Controversial reality star Farrah Abraham has checked into a rehab program. Abraham herself tells Radar Online that she will be receiving counseling as part of an outpatient program, which will ultimately help her to “make better choices.”

Speaking with the celebrity publication, Abraham, who shot into the spotlight with MTV’s “Teen Mom,” stresses that her move to get counseling is preemptive, aimed to help her remain focused on her sobriety.

“She will undergo intensive counseling over the next 10 days at The Lukens Institute, a luxury center, in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., beginning Monday [today],” Radar writes.

The decision to get help might also have something to do with her DUI arrest in March. Abraham has been saying she’s been sober ever since, but countless reports online suggest otherwise.

“At this time in my life, I need to stay focused on the positive to get through all of the negative that a DUI has caused in my life,” Farrah says in a brief statement to the same media outlet.

“I’m 22 and I want to make better choices and ensure I can recognize when I am putting myself in a bad situation next time,” she adds.

Her alleged drinking problem isn’t the only thing that’s been getting her headlines these past few months either.

Besides that controversial tape, Abraham also earned for herself a spot in tabloid history by getting into a vicious war of words with none other than Charlie Sheen, which was prompted by her leaking texts he’d sent her to the media.

He responded to that leak by calling her stupid enough to think she was allowed to reveal his personal information to the public (“congrats on surviving your lobotomy” were his exact words) and urged her to crawl into the abyss and then slam the door behind her.

Farrah tried to fight back but, by that time, he was probably not paying attention anymore. She said he was meaner than Amanda Bynes.
