New board/collectible card game hits the web

Collectible card games are starting to become a trend in the gaming world today and every day, more people become fans of the genre. That's the reason why the developers rush in to create such games. Farmlands is one of the latest to be announced and the first title to be developed by independent company Caffeinated Games. Hopefully, it will keep us awake!

As the name suggests, your main goal in Farmlands will be to build farms, plant crops, and battle for the control of the land. The game gets even more interesting when you start combining your farms together on the board, increasing their value and, of course, annoying your opponent. However, you can always initiate a battle by placing one of the crops on an opponent's square. Unfortunately, things will get pretty random since the outcome of the battle is only decided by a slot machine minigame. But we all know that you have to be a little lucky as well in order to succeed in life.

Still, as I've said, Farmlands is a collectible card game, too. Its collectible aspect comes in with the pack of cards you are drawing your items and seeds from - something similar to the Monopoly style of play. Seeds are used to plant crops or boost your attack in combat. Items are used to modify the behavior of in-game stuff. Also, when a game ends, no matter if it is single or multiplayer, you will receive additional items or seeds that can be used to customize the future packs.

Of course, the most interesting game mode will be the multiplayer one, which allows up to four people to compete against one another either in 1v1, 2v2, 3v1, 1v2 or free for all. If you are interested in giving Farmlands a try or you simply want to see everything the developers have to say about it, feel free to visit its official website.
