The Nokia 5610 XpressMusic is a handset that has been officially announced this past summer. Still, it did not have the FCC approval, but this is not the case anymore. The phone has just got its OK stamp and if you're in U.S., it's time to get yourself a present.

The new model is basically a successor of the Nokia 5310 model. Even though this handset is a bit lighter (71 g/2.50 ounces) than the new 5610 model that has 111g/4 ounces, it is "chubbier" and it isn't as smart as the new model.

Clearly, the 5610 is an "updated" version. The slider phone measures only 98.5 x 48.5 x 17 mm (3.87 x 1.90 x 0.66 inch) that go against the 103.8 x 44.7 x 9.9 mm (4.08 x 1.75 x 0.38 inch) of the previous model. The phone comes in two colors, red and blue, and was designed to please the music lovers. It features Java MIDP 2.0 emulator, Stereo FM radio with RDS, a music player that can read MP3/MP4/AAC/eAAc/WMA formats, a 3.5 mm AV jack, Nokia sensor, Nokia mobile search, World Clock II, Converter II, T9, Stopwatch, built-in hands free and voice memo/commands.

The Nokia Sensor is basically a Bluetooth communication application technology that will allow different users to detect other users in their vicinity. This way, they can exchange messages and client defined profiles with them.

But the last phone had these features too. The new features of the 5610 consist in the 3.0 MP camera with a 2048 x 1536 pixels resolution. Also, the camera features autofocus capabilities and flash, and has a secondary QVGA video call camera (VGA 15fps), unlike the 5310 model that featured a 2.0 MP camera.

But, Nokia didn't stop there. The new model has the 3G connectivity implemented. Also, the phone can resist up to 18-20 hours of playing music. Those who will decide for the new model will be able to enjoy the web 2.0 services directly from their handsets.

The only thing that you need to do now is to buy the phone... But don't hurry, as the price hasn't come out yet.
