A 20-key Windows Mobile phone

A new handset coming to the United States market from South Korean mobile phone maker LG Electronics has recently received FCC approval, the LG GW600. The new mobile phone is expected to surface in the country on the airwaves of wireless carrier AT&T, sporting Microsoft's Windows Mobile operating system.

The device features a 20-key half-QWERTY keypad and comes in a rather thin form factor, though it will certainly not prove itself as one of the thinnest handsets available in the AT&T lineup. Even so, it looks rather nice and it should be a great option when it comes to the carrier's enterprise subscribers.

Among the capabilities that the LG GW600 is expected to pack we can count quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE, dual-band WCDMA connectivity options, as well as a resistive touchscreen display, a 3.1-megapixel photo snapper, built-in GPS receiver, Bluetooth connectivity, proximity sensor, light sensor and accelerometer, as well as video sharing capabilities, and flick and gesture controls.

The new Windows Mobile-based LG device also comes to the market with a microSD memory card slot for additional storage space, and word has it that it might arrive to the carrier's airwaves in more than one color version. One things that is certain at the moment is that the images that surfaced right from FCC's courtyard show the phone in a few more details, which is rather nice, the same as the specification list for the new handset, we should agree.

For the time being, it seems that there are no exact details available on a possible launch time frame for the new LG GW600 phone, nor on the price tag it should come to AT&T with, yet more pieces of information are expected to emerge in the near future, so stay tuned to learn more on this.
