They met and bonded on the set of “Abduction,” now playing in theaters around the world. However, Taylor Lautner dumped Lily Collins one week before the movie’s premiere, which has made things awkward between them while promoting it, since they’re hardly on speaking terms.

They never confirmed being a couple, so it should probably come as no surprise that they’re not willing to speak about their breakup either.

With all that, rumors are saying that it was Lautner who ended the budding romance with Lily. Moreover, it seems that the two are no longer speaking to each other, AceShowbiz writes.

This has made things very complicated for everybody on the promo tour for “Abduction.”

“Taylor Lautner apparently had to go through uncomfortable moments with Lily Collins after their split. One insider told Us Weekly that the rumored couple called it quits just one week before their new movie ‘Abduction’ had its red carpet premiere in Los Angeles on September 15,” the aforementioned e-zine writes.

“Accordingly, it was Taylor who initiated the break-up. Though insisting that it was ‘a clean break,’ the inside source did note, ‘At the Abduction party, it was awkward’,” AceShowbiz further says.

It’s difficult to have the two leads of a new movie on less than friendly terms, especially when they play lovers onscreen. As such, people immediately took notice that the two youths were at odds because of the recent split.

“They barely said a word to one another. The source added that the ‘Twilight Saga’ hunk now looks to ‘be single for a while’ so that ‘he can properly move on’,” the e-zine says.

Add to that the fact that the film failed to impress critics (it got a very poor 3% fresh certification at Rotten Tomatoes), and one might say that Lautner’s foray into movies outside the “Twilight” universe got off to a very shaky start.
