Eva Longoria and Tony Parker are getting a divorce amidst reports that he’s been unfaithful to her. A new report comes to suggest that divorce had been on the table for many weeks – but Eva decided to up her exposure in the media and get her revenge by filing first.

As we also noted the other day, TMZ was the first to break the story of the divorce, with Longoria’s camp immediately issuing a statement about it and demanding a retraction.

The very next day, she went and filed divorce papers. Radar Online is now saying that the move was planned so as to get her revenge on Tony for cheating – but also to get the most exposure in the media, TMZ also chimes in.

According to Radar sources, the “emotional affair” thing was an old one, and Eva and Tony were already discussing divorce. They couldn’t, however, come to terms on how to deal with it publicly.

“But Eva was hurt and she wanted a little revenge. So she blindsided Tony with the divorce filing. They were working out the details about who was going to file and when,” a spy says for Radar.

“They didn’t want it to become a messy divorce. Then Eva got a little revenge and didn’t tell Tony she was filing and dropped the papers on him, catching him off balance for the media blitz,” the insider dishes.

Though Tony was never intimate with the “other woman” (reports say they only exchanged text messages, and that was over with weeks ago), Eva was bent on getting a divorce since she could no longer trust him.

“They were discussing how to proceed for a while. Suddenly, Eva not only filed the papers but then went public with Tony’s relationship with Erin. He was surprised, to say the least,” the same source explains.

Admittedly, Eva timed the filing to coincide with this week’s issue of Us Weekly and the Extra piece, where her best friend Mario Lopez confirms that Tony had an affair, all of this ensuring her maximum amount of publicity.

Tony was blindsided, says the report.

“He held off [filing the papers]. It had been discussed but then abandoned. Next thing he knew she surprised him by filing on Wednesday,” the same source explains.

TMZ corroborates the story, with other sources confirming that the only reason Eva filed for divorce when she did (and precisely hours after denying the split) was because she wanted to grab headlines.

“Eva talked him out of it because she wanted to file in Los Angeles. She was into the whole PR thing. He wasn’t,” an inside source says for TMZ.
