Eurocom launches a new laptop with NVIDIA’s latest GPU

Immediately after NVIDIA announced its latest GeForce GTX 980M and 970M graphic cards, gaming solution specialist Eurocom said it would be updating its fully upgradable line of laptops, including X3, X5, X7 and X8 with the two new GPU standards in single or SLI configuration.

But apparently, Eurocom also has an all-new laptop up its sleeve, which adheres to the new trend set by NVIDIA.

Say hi to the M5 Pro

Introducing the M5 Pro, which is a 15.6-inch laptop coming with an amazing 4K display that can be fitted with either NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980M or 970M graphic cards.

Eurocom prides itself of being able to squeeze in an admirable set of specification into a laptop that weighs just 2.6 kg / 5.7 lbs and 1 inch / 25.4 mm thick.

The 15.6-inch 4K display offers 3840 x 2160 pixel resolution, but if your budget can’t take you as far, there’s the option of FHD (1920 x 1080) thrown in the mix too.

The outer case is made up of aluminum alloy, which contributes to the overall low-weight of the machine. On top of that, aluminum is also good for heat sinking and that’s how Eurocom managed to squeeze the two GPUs under the laptop’s hood.

The Eurocom M5 Pro takes advantage of two optional M.2 2280 SSDs, one 7.5mm and one 9mm storage bays with RAID 0/1 support.

The M5 Pro takes advantage of the most powerful Haswell chips

In the computing department, this little beast takes advantage of an Intel HM87 Express chipset running the Intel Core i7-4710HQ processor with 4 cores, 8 threads at 2.5GHz with integrated Intel HD Graphics 4600.

Everything onboard is fitted with up to 32GB of dual channel DDR3 1600MHz or 1866 MHz 204 pin SODIMM. That’s the maximum you can opt for, but the M5 Pro can also be fitted with 8GB, 16GB of 24GB, the choice is yours.

Like any self-respecting gaming notebook out there, the M5 Pro takes advantage of a full size backlit keyboard with separate numeric keypad.

As for battery life, the laptop is powered by a 180W AC adapter. There’s also a removable 4-cell 60 WH Polymer battery and Eurocom says this should last up to 3.3 hours of life (presumably in 4K mode).

The addition of NVIDIA’s GPU should help with overall life cycle, which doesn’t sound like much at a glance, but keeping in mind how powerful this machine is 3.3 hours is not that bad.

Pricing for the Eurocom M5 Pro starts at $1,375 / €1,078 for the base mode.
