Thai company Spriiing has just announced its first Android smartphone, which will be available on the market starting January 18th. The device will be initially launched in Bangkok, but will be released in other Thailand regions soon after.

According to the company, Spriiing Smile was designed in Sweden and it is manufactured by Chinese company Huawei. The back cover of the smartphone has been stamped with Huawei's brand name for Android devices, Ideos.

Spriiing Smile is an entry level smartphone, which is powered by a Qualcomm MSM7225-1TM 528 MHz processor and runs on the Android 2.1 Eclair platform.

The device features an interesting design including a full QWERTY keyboard and a trackball, which can be used to control the phone with ease. It measures 96.4 x 62.2 x 12 mm and weighs 110g (battery included).

The Smile comes with a slightly smaller 2.6-inch resistive touchscreen with 262k colors support and 320 x 240 pixels resolution.

Other key features of the Spriiint Smile include: HSDPA 7.2 Mbps, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n connectivity, 256 MB RAM, 512 MB ROM, microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 16GB), Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP support, 3-megapixel camera with LED flash, FM Radio, 3.5 mm audio jack and GPS with A-GPS support.

The phone embeds a 930 mAh Li-lon battery which is rated by the manufacturer for up to 290 hours of standby time or up to 3 hours of talk time.

The low-end smartphone is advertised as the ultimate socializing tool, as it comes bundled with all sorts of social networking services: SPRiiiNG Chat, SPRiiiNG Widget, SPRiiiNG Center.

The full Google suite is also packed with the phone: Google Mail, Google Search, Google Talk, Google Maps, Google Mail, Google Search, Google Talk, Google Calendar and Android Market.

There's no word on the price yet, but the smartphone shouldn't retail for more than $150.
