Saving the galaxy as different versions of Commander Shepard

Andrei Dumitrescu: I am quite about ready to end my first run through Mass Effect 3 and I am very much impressed with what BioWare has managed to deliver in this latest installment of its space-based saga.

There are a few missteps, but the overall experience is really impressive, especially when it comes to integrating bits and pieces from the last two titles and making them relevant again.

So far I have been mostly interested in the single-player elements of the game, gathering all the assets that I need in order to get my Galactic Readiness up so that I can get the best result out of the final battle.

Now I plan to go a little deeper into the multiplayer side of Mass Effect 3, trying to get at least one character to level 20 so that I can add that to the overall war effort.

There’s a lot of variety in the multiplayer and I can see it keeping me engaged with Mass Effect 3 well after Shepard’s exploits have become the stuff of legend rather than immediate gaming reality.

Andrei Dobra: Mass Effect 3 will once again fill up my gaming time this weekend as I’m keen on unlocking every single alien race during its cooperative Galaxy at War multiplayer.

I’ve already unlocked a lot of races throughout classes like Engineer, Adept, Soldier or Infiltrator but there are still a few that elude me, including Vanguard or Sentinel.

While I have to admit that I wasn’t optimistic about the multiplayer in Mass Effect 3, this co-op mode has truly gotten me and my friends, as well as my colleagues, truly addicted.

The single-player in Mass Effect 3 is also quite appealing, especially since I’m now playing with a completely new character to see just how big a difference importing a save file from a previous game makes throughout the story.
