Without a doubt, one of the most anticipated movies right now is the big screen adaptation of “Fifty Shades of Grey,” which started out as “Twilight” fan-fiction and turned into a worldwide phenomenon. Emma Watson is attached to play Anastasia Steele.

Word of Watson’s involvement in the project first emerged online last summer but, given the many names thrown around in relation to the project, many thought this particular report was pure speculation.

Not so, The Hollywood Reporter says. It’s confirmed: Anonymous hacked German movie studio Constantin Film and got documents to confirm that.

“There was little that was new in the documents Anonymous stole – one has Emma Watson attached to star in Focus Features' upcoming 50 Shades of Grey adaptation, confirming a widely-reported rumor – while the majority involve projects that have been announced or otherwise reported,” THR writes (emphasis mine).

In response, Constantin Film claims that the documents were outdated, so perhaps it’s trying to send a message to fans that Watson is no longer in the race for the female lead in the film.

Personally, I could totally see this happening, even though Emma doesn’t really look like Anastasia.
