Most of us will always associate the virtual Lara Croft with Angelina Jolie's looks, while the most hardcore fans will always consider Karima Adebe to be the real Lara Croft. However, things might change a bit in the near future, since Eidos has announced that, once Tomb Raider: Underworlds gets launched, a new Ms. Croft will arise, this time portrayed by former gymnast Alison Carroll.

According to Eidos and confirmed by the picture in the upper left corner, Alison features Lara's essential characteristics: brawn, brains and beauty but, as strange as this might sound, she still has some work to do in order to become a true Ms. Croft. Yes, the poor girl will have to embark on a regime that includes survival, combat and semi-automatic weapon training and also start some archeology coursework. Although there will be a lot of work done for that, Alison Carroll will also have a big advantage: she'll be able to play Underworld before the release date, to study Lara's moves better.

"This is a fantastic opportunity and I look forward to embracing Lara's world," said the former gymnast. "It's unbelievable how realistic her movements are in Tomb Raider Underworld and it's so gratifying to be able to use my years of gymnastic training to portray such a beloved character."

Now we really don't know what should excite us the most: the fact that Tomb Raider: Underworld will be the first game in the series to reflect the physical athleticism and real-world skills required by a real adventurer, or the fact that such a beautiful girl will be a feast for our eyes at least until Eidos will announce the next TR game. A really tough decision, but you have the final word on it. So feel free to tell us who you think fits the role of Lara Croft better: Alison, Karima or Angelina?
