After offering details on the Daggeefall Covenant and the Aldmeri Dominion, the development team at ZeniMax Online that works on The Elder Scrolls Online has delivered the core information for the third faction in the game, the Ebonheart Pact.

The sigil of the faction is the dragon on the ouroboros and the core represented races will be the Dunmer, the Nords and the Argonians, with the alliance controlling Skyrim, Morrowind and the Black Marsh.

Paul Sage, the creative director working on The Elder Scrolls Online at ZeniMax Online, stated, “About 50 years prior to the game, an Akaviri invasion came in and basically tried to take over.”

He added, “What happens now is that the Dunmer and the Nords have formed an alliance because the attack was so bad that they realized they were weak to the Imperial rise. So they form an alliance of convenience with the Argonians.

“They’re surrounded by all these tides of opposing forces. They feel really threatened, so the Ebonheart’s entire purpose is to band together and make sure they’re no longer in danger.”

The province of Morrowind was well depicted in the third game in the Elder Scrolls series and The Elder Scrolls Online will recreate its marshy and mountainous areas, along with the volcanic island of Vvardenfell.

Skyrim is also well known to players because of last year’s game with the same name, but fans will see some significant changes when it comes to cities and landmarks, given the timeframe when the game takes place.

Black Marsh is the home of the Argonians and has not yet been visited by the series and the developers will need a way to depict the sentient Hist trees.

The Ebonheart Pact will allow gamers to control the Dunmer, who are smart and powerful enough to perform well both as warriors and as magic users, the Nords, who are best suited to front line combat and seafaring, and the Argonians, ready for the role of guerrilla warriors.
