Paradox Interactive, the publisher and developer best known for its grand strategy video games, has released a new patch for Europa Universalis III: Heir to the Throne, eliminating most of the issues that the game still had and creating a better gameplay experience overall for the fans who have stuck with the game so far.

Paradox says that the big changes in the 4.1b patch are:

- improvements made to the Artificial Intelligence which powers competing countries, with a bigger challenge offered to those veterans of the series who can take any minor and create a world spanning power; - the interface has also been improved, allowing players to get easier access to information about their country and making it more clear what military units they have under their command; - the Holy Roman Empire, one of the most important entities in Europa Universalis III, has been completely reworked, making it more exciting to be a part of, with clear bonuses for those players who are part of its and try to expand its power and penalties for those who plan to take it down; - name for all the countries are now dynamic, meaning that when the player zooms out they will adapt to borders as they are shifting; - other general gameplay enhancements, linked to how mercenary companies work, naval battles and annexation mechanics.

The full patch notes and download links can be obtained form the official Paradox website, with a different version set to be delivered through Steam for those who bought the game from that digital distribution service.

At the moment Paradox Interactive is working on a new expansion for Europa Universalis III, the fourth one, called Divine Wind.

As the name suggests the new downloadable only content is focused on the Far East, adding new gameplay mechanics to China and Japan in order to simulate their political states during the game's time frame.

There are also changes made to trade, diplomacy and how the game looks.
