ESPN has teamed up with Microsoft, offering the subscribers of Xbox Live brand new full games, TV shows and sports events footage. Now, you'll be able to download video clips showing footage from college football and basketball matches. The Xbox Live will also include "Madden Nation", one of ESPN's reality shows, which give sports fans the chance to enter the world of Madden NFL football gaming.

On the download list, the 2007 World Series of Poker is also mentioned, together with the latest season from "The Contender" TV show and a surfing documentary titled "Down the Barrel". We'll get to watch two hours of pure football and basketball games, just a couple of days after they'll be aired on TV. Keep in mind that this is not a free download I'm talking about, so you'll have to spend $3 or 240 Microsoft points for the standard version of these clips. In case you want a HD view of the sporting events, you'll have to spend $4.50, while "The Contender" episodes cost $2 (standard version) or $2.40 (HD version).

Right now, the Xbox Live Marketplace has made available about 3.200 hours of entertaining content, ranging from downloadable motion pictures to HD TV shows and sports events. They're the work of over 30 studios and networks, who have contracts with Microsoft in order to deliver such quality content. Still wondering if Xbox Live will ever go live, offering on-the-scene video coverage for Superbowl finals or giving us the chance to download the latest episode from LOST before it gets aired. The prices are reasonable enough, considering the amount of money that some people pay for 5000+ cable channels, that become useless in the long run.

The Xbox 360 proves to be more than your average gaming device, emphasizing its home entertainment features, through the many downloadable contents if offers every week.
