Another day, another 'surprise' confirmation of a new game, as after yesterday's announcement from Activision that we will get to see a new Call of Duty game in 2012, Electronic Arts has now revealed that a Battlefield 4 is coming.

Battlefield 3 has just been released around the world and, judging from initial sales estimates, it's more than popular, with EA shipping around 10 million units and selling more than 5 million, based on its own data.

As you can imagine, it's safe to say that the franchise will continue with a new Battlefield title in the future. EA confirmed this, via Industry Gamers, through its president, Frank Gibeau, who said during a keynote at the University of Southern California that 'there will be a Battlefield 4'.

No other details are known just yet, so it's safe to say that at least a couple of years separate us from the new Battlefield game, considering a new Medal of Honor might appear in 2012.
