The multiplayer modes included in Duke Nukem Forever have finally been revealed, and it's safe to say that the game keeps its tongue-in-cheek approach to gameplay, with one mode tasking players to slap girls over their behind in order to calm them down.

Despite the disbelief of many, Duke Nukem Forever is finally getting ready to be released this May, so Gearbox Software, its developer, has been slowly showcasing the features of the much-awaited title.

Now, thanks to some details from the Official Xbox Magazine that appeared on the Duke4 forums, we know the four multiplayer modes included in the game.

These modes are Dukematch, Team Dukematch, Capture the Babe and Hail to the King.

As you can see, the team at Gearbox put a Duke Nukem theme on classic multiplayer modes like deathmatch, team deathmatch, capture the flag or king of the hill.

The biggest surprise comes from Capture the Babe, where the traditional flag is replaced by a girl that needs to be captured by players and taken to their base. During the match, the girl can sometimes "freak out" meaning players need to push a special button in order to slap her behind and calm her down.

All of the multiplayer modes will support four-on-four matches, with two teams of Dukes wearing either red or blue shirts.

Ten maps are included, with the likes of Morning Wood, which is an old west town, a Las Vegas-inspired casino and Dukeburger, where the gamers are playing as miniatures in a giant world.

There will be an XP system in place, in order to allow progression over time, while players can earn steroids that enable special powers like one hit kill punches.

A variety of weapons will be included, with the likes of pistols, shotguns, chainguns, pipe bombs, rocket launchers, shrink rays, freeze guns or jetpacks.

Expect more details as we approach the release of Duke Nukem Forever, set to take place on May 3, on the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
