Chinese handset manufacturer Huawei has just announced the availability of its dual-SIM Android smartphone, the Deuce, in Australia.

Huawei U8520 Duplex, also known as Huawei Deuce is now available for purchase for 249 AUD (265 USD or 190 EUR) outright, from AllPhones, Dick Smith and Harvey Norman stores across the country.

The Chinese company officially launched the Huawei Deuce in Australia via its Twitter account: “Huawei launches Australia's first dual-SIM Android handset - the Deuce.”

The Deuce is Australia's first dual-SIM Android smartphone and comes with GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 support for both SIMs, as well as HSDPA 900 / 2100 support for one SIM.

Huawei debuted the dual-SIM Android smartphone this month in multiple countries, but the device's other features are not that appealing.

Although other manufacturer like LG and ZTE are already selling some of their Android budget-friendly phones for under $200 (143 EUR), Huawei hopes to win big by selling its dual-SIM smartphone for $265 (190 EUR).

It's true that the Deuce comes with dual-SIM capability, but the price remains high for a smartphone that is delivered with Android 2.2 Froyo on board.

Huawei Deuce comes with HSDPA (7.2 Mbps) and HSUPA support, nothing out of the ordinary here, as most Android phones support this technology, which provides users fast data speed connectivity.

On the inside, the Deuce is equipped with a 600 MHz Qualcomm MSM7227-1 processor and an Adreno 200 graphics processing unit, both of which are at least one-year old.

Furthermore, the smartphone packs 150 MB of internal memory, 512 MB of ROM, 256 MB of RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB, 2GB memory card included).

The phone's 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen supports 262k colors and 320 x 480 pixels resolution, along with accelerometer and proximity sensors.
