fireCore has announced the release of aTV Flash (black) 2.0 for owners of a jailbroken 2nd-generation Apple TV. This massive update includes an all-new Library View that indexes and organizes all your media, even the content stored on other devices.

According to the development team at fireCore, version 2.0 of aTV Flash (black) “goes beyond just watching videos, and adds in a ton of new features that make browsing and watching media on the Apple TV more enjoyable than ever.”

The flagship feature of this release is the new Library View which lists all your content, even the titles stored on other devices you own, and automatically organizes movies, TV shows and music into categories like genre, release date, star rating, age rating, and so forth.

The new aTV Flash will now automatically group TV shows by series/season, “so there's no more worrying about keeping your folders perfectly organized.”

For conservative users, the original browsing method will remain intact as an alternative option.

A more powerful search tool is now available, allowing viewers to search by movie, TV series/episode, song, artist, album or file name.

Trakt.tv syncing has been integrated for users trying to keep multiple Apple TVs in sync. You can manually mark a movie or show as watched on trakt.tv and it will automatically receive the same marking on the Apple TV.

As usual, fireCore provides the official changelog on their blog, for users looking to know every bit of detail about the 2.0 release.

Customers hoping to see Apple TV 3rd-gen support will be disappointed yet again.

fireCore says “Work is still ongoing and we'll be sure to announce any and all news as soon as it becomes available.”
