Santa Clara, California-based NVIDIA has just released a brand new set of beta graphics drivers, in the form of the GeForce 182.05. The new Beta release follows NVIDIA's recently introduced GeForce 181.22 drivers that were designed to provide users with support for the latest and most anticipated game released by EA, namely Mirror's Edge. The latest Beta drivers have also been designed to provide a performance boost for yet another hot gaming title, namely F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin, which has just been released.

As you might expect from any release of NVIDIA GeForce graphics drivers, the new Beta version of the upcoming WHQL-certified GeForce Release 182 provides support for any of the company's GeForce 6, 7, 8, 9 and 200-series desktop GPUs. According to the graphics chip maker, the new drivers are recommended for the best experience in the recently launched “F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin" gaming application, and should enable a 10% performance increase.

In addition, users of NVIDIA GeForce desktop graphics cards should also see some performance boosts, compared to the company's current WHQL-certified GeForce 181.22 drivers. There's an 11% performance increase in Left 4 Dead, a 10% one for Race Driver: GRID, 9% for Half-Life 2 and 8% for Fallout 3, all with high resolution and using AA. Also, users of NVIDIA's GeForce 8-series, 9-series and 200-series GPUs will be provided with support for OpenGL 3.0.

The Beta release also includes the new PhysX version 9.09.0203 software, which adds up to the list of features that will be enabled by NVIDIA's latest GeForce drivers.
