Last week, Softpedia informed the masses that Chair Entertainment’s Infinity Blade, a new sword fighting action game developed exclusively for iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad, was getting its first add-on. The DLC in question has arrived on the iTunes App Store.

Infinity Blade is currently the top grossing title in the iTunes App Store. The game was developed using Epic’s Unreal Engine 3 which, thanks to a recent software release from Epic Games, can now be employed by iOS developers worldwide.

Now, according to the game’s iTunes page, the update has arrived.

Created by Chair Entertainment Group, a wholly owned subsidiary of Epic Games, Infinity Blade puts players in the shoes of an armored hero whose birthright is to free his people from an endless legacy of darkness.

In addition to all the features hardcore gamers would expect from an RPG title, Infinity Blade boasts some deep character customization, including dozens of Swords, Shields, Helmets, Armor, and Magic Rings.

Players level up their character and increase Attack, Health, Shield and Magic skills to climb to the top of Game Center’s leaderboards. The game also includes Achievements.

Only some iOS devices support Infinity Blade’s resource-demanding code. These include iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation) and iPad.

According to Chair Entertainment, Infinity Blade is actually optimized for iPhone 4, as it “includes high-resolution graphics that fully utilize the Retina display.”

The minimum operating system spec is iOS 3.2.
