Version 1.2 of BizTalk Server Best Practices Analyzer is now available for download from Microsoft. With this release, the Redmond company is providing customers with a tool designed to assess the configuration of their BizTalk installations. In this context, the Analyzer is designed to play nice with a range of the company's integration and connectivity server solutions, including BizTalk Server 2006, BizTalk Server 2006 R2, or BizTalk Server 2009. According to the software giant, Windows Server 2003 SP2, Windows Server 2008, Windows Vista SP11 and Windows XP SP3 are among the supported operating systems for BizTalk Server 2009 Best Practices Analyzer 1.2.

“The BizTalk Server Best Practices Analyzer performs configuration-level verification by reading and reporting only. The Best Practices Analyzer gathers data from different information sources, such as Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) classes, SQL Server databases, and registry entries. The Best Practices Analyzer uses the data to evaluate the deployment configuration. The Best Practices Analyzer does not modify any system settings, and is not a self-tuning tool,” revealed Chris Vidotto, Microsoft solution specialist, Application Platform, Melbourne, Australia.

Microsoft wrapped up BizTalk Server 2009 in April 2009. The first and only Release Candidate of the product was launched at the start of February 2009, just a few months after the Beta build was offered in December 2008. The debut of May 2009 marked the General Availability deadline for BizTalk Server 2009. MSDN subscribers have been able to grab the final bits for BizTalk Server 2009 since the end of the past month, and customers are also free to evaluate a 120-day trial edition that is available completely free of charge. BizTalk Server 2009 has been tailored to a few specific markets based on language, and is delivered in: Chinese simplified, Chinese traditional, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean and Spanish.
