Beejive announced recently the launch of a new application, one that comes towards users of a handset from the Canadian mobile phone maker Research In Motion, namely BeejiveIM for BlackBerry 2.0. According to the company, the new solution comes as a powerful BlackBerry application that features support for Facebook Chat, GoogleTalk, AIM/iChat/MobileMe, MSN/Windows Live, Yahoo!, MySpace, ICQ, and Jabber.

What the new BeejiveIM for BlackBerry 2.0 comes around with includes the possibility to always stay connected with friends and contacts, proving a great option for messaging over more costly possibilities. Moreover, the company further revealed that the new app would be available until January 1, 2010 for half the usual price. Those who would like to acquire it, will be able to get device licenses for only $9.95, while user licenses are available for only $14.95 from the company's website.

The features list of the new application for Blackberry devices includes: Facebook chat, clickable, Twitter usernames, a refined and responsive user interface, voice notes, GPS location, chat styles, file transfers with all IM services, push notifications, improved battery life, support for OS 5.0 and BlackBerry Storm and Storm 2. At the same time, the application comes with a series of already known features, including group chats, UI customizations, logging, buddy icons and clickable hyperlinks.

Mobile phones are now fully‐fledged social networking tools and remote offices, and we enable the millions of BlackBerry users to always stay in touch with their friends and business contacts on virtually any chat network,” said Kai Yu, founder and CEO of Beejive. “With BeejiveIM for BlackBerry 2.0 we’ve added a long list of powerful new features to help users stay in contact while minimizing their text messaging expenses. And, in the spirit of the holidays, we’re cutting the price in half, the biggest sale we’ve ever had.”

According to the company, starting January 1, the application will be priced at $19.95 for a device license, and at $29.95 for user license. The device license, Beejive notes, enables users to enjoy the app on a single BlackBerry handset, without the possibility to transfer it to another device. The user license offers this possibility, but the app can be used on a single phone at a time.
