Advanced Micro Devices now offers both the latest driver and the change log, so users should probably get to the downloading part. We already
mentioned that AMD had launched the newest WHQL-certified Catalyst 11.10 driver suite for its consumer graphics cards.
In fact, we wrote about the subject yesterday (October 31, 2011), when the change log hadn't been published yet.
We said that the package would probably bring some frame rate boosts to games and such but, while some enhancements to Eyefinity and Vision Engine Control Center / Catalyst Control Center did get included, it looks like this particular software package was more focused on bug fixes.
For example, random corruption in some OpenGL games has been eliminated, as have crashes when running the Lost Planet 2 benchmark, and not only.
Also, Mafia II will no longer randomly crash during game loading or playing with CrossFire on.
F1 2010, Dirt 2, Homefront, Google Earth and other applications got some fixes as well The above, and various other fixes, apply to Microsoft's Windows 7 OS.
AMD also made some things work better in Windows Vista, like scaling options when connecting DFP/ DisplayPort monitors (they are correctly displayed), playback of M2V/Mpeg2/Mpeg4 files (random application crash when toggling Hardware Acceleration).
As for Windows XP, the same application crash fix related to multimedia files as above was resolved, as was the display corruption on the primary display when operating on extended display mode with AERO enabled (this last one applies to Windows Vista and Windows 7 as well).
