Blizzard has announced that its upcoming Diablo III role playing game will support popular online payment service PayPal for the new Auction House feature announced last month, while its current Battle.net online service will soon allow players to make purchases with just a valid PayPal account.

Blizzard caused a lot of debate last month when it confirmed that its new Diablo III RPG would require a permanent online connection, while its Auction House allows players to sell and buy virtual items for real world currency.

While some were shocked to hear such things, many gamers eventually saw that such requirements weren't so unreasonable.

Now, as people are seeing the reason behind Blizzard's choices, that of offering a safe experience that can even result in money for the actual player, the company has announced new features for the Auction House.

The newest one is that it will support popular online payment service PayPal, so players just need to have an account, a credit card tied to it, and they'll be able to freely receive and spend money on items in the game.

"We're pleased to announce that in most regions, PayPal will be our payment-service partner for the Diablo III auction house, allowing players who trade with real-world currency the ability to cash out the spoils of their battle-torn adventures via a PayPal account."

PayPal is also going to be added as a payment option for those who buy things on Battle.net, Blizzard's own online service.

"PayPal will also soon be added in several regions as a payment option on Battle.net, providing another convenient and secure payment method for digital purchases of Blizzard products and services."

Region-related specifications are going to be detailed in the near future, according to Blizzard, but Diablo III fans should definitely start creating PayPal accounts to make sure that, when the game actually does come out, they'll have an optimum experience.
