Season 5 of Showtime’s “Dexter” is drawing to an end: one more episode to go

Fans have only a few days to go until the fifth season of Showtime’s popular killer drama “Dexter” comes to an end. Since they’ve been promised an ending that will be just as surprising and well executed as the season 4 finale, hype about it is already starting to build up.

Showrunner Chip Johannesson recently revealed for E! that another “doozy” was in the making. Clearly, he couldn’t say more about it, but he did promise fans that they wouldn’t be disappointed in their favorite show.

Actor Desmond Harrington recently spoke to E! Online about what fans may expect from the season finale and, while he too can’t offer all the details, he will say this much: his Quinn is in major trouble.

However, at least as far as his character is concerned, Desmond can promise fans will get the answer to all their questions.

“The good news? Desmond Harrington tells us: ‘I don’t think there’s a cliffhanger." The bad news? He’s specifically talking about a cliffhanger for his character, Quinn,” E! notes.

The e-zine then goes to say that, since this is “Dexter” we’re talking about, a cliffhanger (similar to Rita’s death at least to a small extent) is almost a prerequisite of the series by now.

“Quinn is definitely in deep doo-doo, per Desmond, who points out that along with the blood (Liddy’s blood) that hit his foot, ‘the phone calls that Liddy’s made to [Quinn] and he’s made to Liddy are obviously on this guy’s phone.’ Whoopsie!” E! also notes.

Liddy, as fans know, is the cop Quinn hired to keep a tab on Dex and Lumen because he’d started to suspect that something wasn’t right about Deb’s brother since the previous season.

Speaking of suspicions, E! also has something about Deb and whether she will find out everything about Dexter at the end of this season, also courtesy of Desmond.

“Honestly, I don’t think Quinn would have a problem with justice being served the way Dexter does it. I honestly don’t think that someone could be very close to him [and know the truth]. I think there could be a don’t-ask-don’t-tell thing but I don’t think someone could be particularly [close] and know the depths to which he’s killed,” the actor shares.

As for Rita’s two adorable children, who haven’t been around for many episodes now, E! says we should expect them to pay their now-estranged step-dad one final visit before curtain call on season 5.
