That Dell intends to release more tablets over the course of 2011 is no real news, but there are still many questions left unanswered about the company's complete plans and roadmaps, some of which have just barely been touched upon not long ago.

Dell's collection of Streak tablets has been the subject of discussion for months now, having even (and obviously) shown up during the 2011 International Consumer Electronics Show.

Some incarnations of the Streak have already started selling, like one with 16 GB of storage.

Still, given that these are just the first wave, market watchers are, predictably, keeping an eye out for any information on the next generation.

Unfortunately, either the products are just in the beginning development stages or Dell is proving especially apt at keeping secrets, because nothing except vague time frames are known.

As stated by a recent report from Digitimes, Dell will eventually unveil new tablets, along with smartphones and, of course, notebooks.

In terms of slates, the outfit is said to have the intention to approach both the enterprise and the consumer fronts simultaneously.

For end-users, Dell will make use of its various channels, while target industries, like medical treatment, will be approached through existing clients.

The most that could be learned from the retail channel was that the first models to reach Taiwan will arrive in the first half of 2011.

That said, models of the same type as the Stream 7 tablet, the Inspiron Duo notebook and even 5-inch Streaks should hold as important a role as 10-inch tablet PCs and smartphones in the company's roadmap.

Either way, enterprise-aimed devices are poised to have drastically different hardware, services, data security, connection convenience and applications, compared to consumer ones.

What remains to be seen is how long it takes the world-class IT player to provide any concrete information.
