Two new smartphones have been just launched on the market in India, both of them coming from Dell, namely the Dell Venue and the Dell Venue Pro.

Running under Google's Android 2.2 Froyo operating system, the Dell Venue packs a 4.1-touchscreen display with Gorilla Glass, and sports a price tag of Rs.29990.

In addition to appealing connectivitiy options, the new device also offers an 8-megapixel photo snapper, as well as Dell's Stage UI, not to mention the access to various Google services, as well as to a wide range of applications put on download via the Android Market.

“Our strategy is to continue creating smart, innovative and new mobile experiences to help people discover new ways to enjoy the web, connect with friends, and navigate their lives,” Mr. Mahesh Bhalla, Executive Director & General Manager, Consumer and SMB, Dell India said.

“Following Dell’s purpose, to give our customers the power to do more, the Venue – with Android 2.2 and Venue Pro – our first Windows Phone 7 smartphone, gives customers a fresh new way to meet everyday social and professional commitments in a sleek and attractive form factor, and for the best value.”

The second smartphone, Dell Venue Pro, runs under Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 platform, while packing the same 4.1-touchscreen display, though with a portrait sliding keyboard beneath it. A 5-megapixel photo snapper is present on the handset's back.

Dell Venue Pro was launched as the first Windows Phone 7 smartphone to include a portrait sliding QWERTY keyboard. The handset is priced at Rs.34990.
