It may be a little bit more than just a while before Visceral Games launches its Dead Space 2, the sequel to one of the best survival horrors of 2009, but that doesn't stop the studio from keeping a close relationship with its fans. Most studios tend to work in complete silence and isolation, especially in the early stages of production, like a mad scientist, with nothing but his faithful Igor by his side. But Visceral has taken a very open policy with DS2 development, and it has already reached out to fans on numerous occasions.

Using the Facebook social network to keep us updated on the game's progression and some of its features, the studio has once again revealed a little something about it. This time around, the Executive Producer of Dead Space 2, Steve Papoutsis, has reached out to fans in search of inspiration regarding the content of the game's Collector's Edition. And while people are screaming all over the network their deepest, darkest desires regarding Issac and the Ishimura, the first thing we see is that Papoutsis has just confirmed a Collector's Edition for the title.

"Once again we need your help," the post on the Dead Space Facebook page read. "If we were to put out a Dead Space 2 Collector's Edition, what would you want to see in it? I will have our Executive Producer Steve Papoutsis comment on some of your suggestions next week... so make them good!" So far, the most popular request seems to be an action figure, be it of Issac himself, or of the Ishimura, but necromorphs are also a pretty hot subject. Plasma Cutters are also among the top choices, but, since we dream of a working one, chances are slim that we'll actually get one.

The game has already announced several changes in regards to the first installment in the series, and the rumored multiplayer mode seems to be one of the most interesting things so far. While the idea of a room filled with Issacs shooting at one another with plasma cutters may not be all that exciting, a humans-versus-necromorphs infestation mode does sound like it could be insanely fun.
