Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless is set to make the second Motorola Android phone available for purchase on November 6, and it seems that its stores around the country are already receiving shipments of the device. Motorola DROID, the first Android phone Big Red announced as coming to its offering, is said to be arriving in Verizon stores, gearing up for that November 6 launch day that we all know about by now.

The best part is that Motorola DROID won't come alone. Rumor has it that Verizon Wireless plans to introduce DROID in all of its Android phones' names, and most of you might have learned so far that the HTC DROID Eris is also heading towards the carrier on November 6. In addition to this, the phone is reportedly being shipped to Verizon's stores, which suggests that the release date might have been already nailed down, though no official announcement has emerged until now.

According to a recent post on phone Arena, Verizon's stores are receiving large quantities of both Motorola DROID and HTC DROID Eris, which suggests that Verizon is expecting the two phones to see high-demand, and that it wants to prevent them from going out of stock. Being the first two Android-based handsets on Big Red,

it was only natural for the carrier to take this kind of precautions, so that its issues with the HTC Touch Pro2 won't appear again.

The Motorola DROID is also available for pre-order on Best Buy, where those interested will have the opportunity to acquire it without the mail-in rebate Verizon asks. Motorola DROID has been touted as including great functionalities, and as being capable of delivering a better user experience than the Apple iPhone. Verizon has high hopes for it, and most probably the same might apply to other DROID phones it is set to add to its offering. Moreover, it claims that it will be able to support the data traffic the handsets will generate on its network.

I went into a Verizon Wireless store today to inquire about the droid and if they could put one aside. The rep told me she could not, and the store would open an hour earlier that day and to show up early. She also said they had a couple boxes upstairs which would indicate they already have them. Just let us buy them today, or optionally online today and get it before the weekend. I don't have a close Best Buy, and will have to suffer the line at the store.

To add to the comment the rep was not sure if you could preorder online which i already knew you couldn't. Funny part was when she clicked the droid part on their own website their filtering software blocked her.
