Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless is reportedly ramping up for the release of a series of very appealing smartphones on its airwaves, some of which were already announced officially, including the Motorola DROID Pro and CITRUS, or the Palm Pre 2. At the same time the carrier is expected to launch the long rumored DROID 2 Global, which made another appearance into the wild

not too long ago.

According to a recent article on Droid-Life, all four handsets should make an appearance on the wireless carrier's network as soon as November 11th though nothing was announced officially as of yet.

Motorola announced officially the Motorola DROID Pro and the Motorola CITRUS in early October, while the Palm Pre 2 was announces on Tuesday.

As for DROID 2 Global, it made it to the headline quite a few times before, but nothing was announced officially on it until now.

However, the device did emerge on Motorola's own website not too long ago, which suggests that it is as real as it can be, and that its release date might not be that far in the future.

When announcing the Motorola DROID Pro, the handset vendor said that it should fit the needs of all business users out there, as it sports a touchscreen display and a QWERTY keyboard in a candybar form factor.

The handset sports a powerful 1 GHz processor, enough internal memory to fit the needs of any user, and support for business applications and services.

The Motorola CITRUS is a low-end device that packs a 528 MHz Qualcomm CPU, Wi-Fi, 256 MB RAM, microSD card slot, 3.5mm audio jack port, GPS and more.

Palm Pre 2, the second Pre smartphone to run under the webOS platform, was announced officially on Tuesday, when HP unveiled plans to have it available on Verizon's airwaves in “the following months.”

November 11th fits the bill, though it certainly is sooner than expected, in case Verizon would actually release this device on that day.

As for DROID 2 Global, this is a device that still has to be made official before a release date gets attached to it, that's for sure.

For the time being, however, the launch of these mobile phones on Verizon on November 11th is only a rumor, and we'll keep our fingers crossed for it to pan out.
