Motorola and Verizon Wireless should soon make official a new handset running under Google's Android operating system and included in the carrier's popular DROID series, namely the DROID 3, and some more info on the handset just emerged.

A leaked document that puts the yet-unannounced DROID 3 next to the Motorola DROID 2 Global and the DROID X2 unveiled the complete specifications the handset will arrive on shelves with.

Moreover, it also uncovered details on the availability of Android 2.3 Gingerbread for the Motorola DROID 2 Global. Soon after the release of DROID 3, the handset will taste the latest flavor of Google's mobile operating system, it seems.

We already knew that Verizon was gearing up for deploying Gingerbread on DROID 2 Global, but specific info on when that might happen has not emerged until now.

As for the DROID 3 by Motorola, users should expect for a highly appealing mobile phone to arrive in their hands soon, the aforementioned internal doc that emerged over at Android Central shows.

The device will pack a dual-core TI OMAP 4430 1GHz application processor inside, and will sport a large 4-inch touchscreen display that can deliver a qHD resolution (540 x 960 pixels).

The mobile phone will also arrive with a sliding design, with a 5-row QWERTY keyboard sliding out from under the display.

Motorola DROID 3 will also arrive on the market with 16GB of internal memory, and with a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space.

The specifications list of this handset also includes an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording capabilities, complemented by a front0facing camera to enable video chatting while on the go.

Motorola will also pack it with WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, as well as with Mobile Hotspot capabilities with support for up to 5 WiFi-enabled devices, and DLNA support.

YouTube, BlockBuster, V CAST Video, VZ Navigator, V CAST Rhapsody and other services were included into the mix as well, along with Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS.
