Many fans have complained that the 17-minute long cinematic reveal for the upcoming Battlefield 4 has been too geared towards the single-player component and has failed to show any information about the multiplayer side of the game.

Patrick Bach, one of the leaders of the development team at DICE, tells Edge that his team was aiming to create an introduction that would show off the story and game world. The discussion can move on to actual gameplay and mechanics at a later date.

He states, “I won’t call it a Bond opening, but you see a build-up from showing you different parts of the actual gameplay and showing you game elements.”

DICE is interested in getting players to care about the Battlefield 4 characters that have been introduced and will have a major role in the final release of the game, alongside cinematic sequences and important choices.
