Crysis 2 is quite a fun game, no matter the type of player you may be, accommodating styles like the stealthy sniper that chooses vantage points and picks off enemies one by one, or the armored brute, who just leaps into the middle of firefights and starts smashing all of his enemies.

Part of this flexibility can be attributed to Crysis 2's upgraded Nanosuit, which bestows special powers onto players, but we mustn't forget about the pretty big variety of weapons included in the title released by Crytek.

[admark=1]There are quite a lot of guns in Crysis 2 and, even if it doesn't get anywhere near the huge variety seen in other shooters like Borderlands, will certainly please those that don't want to go around the game with the same few weapons.

However, even if you do have lots of choices, in the end, at least in my case, I almost always used the versatile SCAR rifle and the DSG-1 Sniper one, mostly because they're the best ones in the game and were a lot of help no matter the type of approach I used in the single-player campaign.

Yes, there are weapons like the K-Volt which blasts electricity through enemies, the futuristic X-43 microwave emitter or the Gauss Rifle, which are fun to play with, but, in most of the firefights, you're better off with the SCAR and sniper combination.

A big reason for staying with these weapons, which are given to you almost at the beginning of the game, is that Crysis 2 keeps its customization mechanic, which enables you to choose different attachments for the guns, from fitting silencers to different scopes or fire modes.

As such, I was able to use the SCAR for short stealth segments by fitting a silencer, not to mention go on heavy assaults by using its built-in grenade launcher, but also use the DSG-1 for its intended purpose of sniping enemies, as well as go into direct firefights by fitting a different scope and just using it as an overpowered close-range rifle.

Perhaps other players used different weapons but, at least for me, the variety was pretty much useless because I already had the most powerful and versatile guns in the game.
