Video game developer Crytek is aware of the importance that review scores have to the overall market success of a new launch so they are aiming to polish their upcoming first-person shooter Crysis 2 so that it will get a score of over 90 when it is released.

Nathan Camarillo, who is an executive producer working on Crysis 2, has told CVG that all titles “have to be 90 plus to make an impact in any genre now.”

He added, “If you want to be recognised at all, regardless of genre, like anything you need to create the highest quality product possible and anything else is not going to get noticed.”

Crysis 2 is being published by Electronic Arts for Crytek and the company says that the game is the best that it can be, ready to amaze and impress players in the same way that the first title in the series did when it was released.

The new shooter will ditch the isolated island areas of the first one, with jungles and ice covers, and move to New York, where the aliens are again invading just three years after the events that gamers have already played through.

Crytek have shown bits and pieces of the experience offered by Crysis 2, with more vertical levels set in the about to be destroyed city and with a bigger emphasis on tactics when approaching the beefed up enemies.

The Nanosuit is also getting an upgrade, with players able to use two of its modes at the same time for a small period of time.

There are also improvements made to its functionality, allowing for stealth kills, better protection from enemy fire and more tactical information to be gathered and used.

Crysis 2 will be out on the PC, the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 on March 22 for those in North America and on March 25 for those playing in Europe.
