Creative has already released a bunch of audio and multimedia products, but it really is set to make its mark with this new line of sound cards, based on the quad-core Sound Core3D audio processor.

Creative proudly announced the completion of its newest audio processor, one Sound Core3D, which has four cores and allowed for the making of three new sound cards, though no pricing or availability info was given.

Said cores are not identical, but distinct DSPs, each with their own sets of tasks, enabling any one sound card to process CrystalVoice, THX TruStudio Pro and any other audio.

One audio card is the Core3D PCI Express, whose PCB looks a bit too unadorned, compared to most other sound cards at least.

The Recon3D Fatal1ty professional, however, seems to have enough components that the company figured it may as well cover them up in a sheet of metal, though there is a small window showing the PCB.

Finally, the Recon3D Fatal1ty Champion, whose photo was not provided, is expected to be similar to the Fatal1ty Professional, only with more I/O options (headset jacks etc.) and volume control, among other things.

“We are leveraging our expertise of designing and selling more than 400 million Sound Blaster audio solutions to break new ground with the power and performance of Sound Core3D, establishing the next standard of sound and voice quality for the PC, Mac, console gaming systems and consumer electronics devices,” said Sim Wong Hoo, Chairman and CEO of Creative Technology Ltd.

“We designed Sound Core3D with its revolutionary quad-core design to even further expand our leadership in audio innovation beyond the PC to transform all digital entertainment. This enables us to develop our most exciting and versatile line of Sound Blaster products yet, while we pursue new market opportunities by providing our OEM partners with the flexibility to power PC products and consumer electronics devices with Sound Core3D.”
