Many audio products launched nowadays are specifically made to go along with a PC or media player, but Creative decided to distinguish itself this month by making something equally suited for game consoles.

The press release that Creative provided focuses on a certain product whose name is Sound Blaster Recon3D.

The Sound Blaster moniker alone should be enough to ensure prospective customers that they can expect high quality audio to come out of it.

For those that want to make an informed decision, the product is only about as large as a mouse, but boasts three 3.5mm jacks (microphone in, line in, analog line out) and 5.1 surround decoding.

It will become available for order at some point in October, 2011, for the price of $129.99, bundled with software that adds a 10-band graphic EQ, bass management, and speaker configuration on Apple mac Systems and, of course, PCs..

"We designed the Sound Blaster Recon3D to enable seamless audio enhancement for all platforms - whether it's a console gaming system or a Mac or PC, Sound Blaster Recon3D provides the best audio experience and voice communications available," said Ryan Schlieper, product marketing manager for audio and gaming at Creative Labs, Inc.

"We've been able to accomplish this based upon our heritage of designing and selling more than 400 million sound cards. This simple-to-use solution leverages the evolution of our audio engineering expertise, the Sound Core3D, resulting in the Sound Blaster Recon3D, which enables all gamers to experience dramatically improved sound quality, regardless of platform or content."

The Sound Core3D chip lies inside the item, with its four processor cores. Also, the CrystalVoice technology is implemented, its purpose being to provide vocal fidelity in video chats and games.

Furthermore, Creative threw in the benefits of HD audio digital-to-analog converters (DACs) and analog-to digital converters (ADCs).

Finally, there are controls for not just Volume and Mic Boost, but also for THX TruStudio Pro audio enhancement settings.
