World War II week with plenty of surprises

Probably many of you are sick and tired of the weapons in Counter Strike: Source. So am I, but maybe there is some good news for all of us, the Counter-Strike enthusiasts.

As you know, some six weeks have passed since the CS community has started to have a saying in the pricing of Counter-Strike weapons. In these six weeks, the price of the Desert Eagle has started to increase in a steady manner till it got out of control.

According to a Steam update, this has happened because the Desert Eagle has become more useful than the rest of the pistols. In what way it is more useful they do no explain but mention that purchasing one of the other pistols is not a smart move. I must admit I liked the Desert Eagle way before "it became more useful" because it is simply steadier when aiming than the other pistols.

Valve also promises to make the rest of the pistols, Five Seven, P228 and Dual Elites more effective. More effective in what way? I'm sorry to disappoint you, but they do not say. Apparently, the prices of all pistols have been reset to their previous defaults in preparation for this change.

Valve also has some more goodies in store for us, and will allow us to play Red Orchestra for free over this weekend, because it is World War II week. Furthermore, during the WII week, you can buy Red Orchestra with a 10% discount. Also, as a special World War II week package, all the Call of Duty games have been rolled into a single package called "War Chest", package which also has a 10% discount.
