The online first person shooter is still in closed beta until then

Valve has pinned a release date on its upcoming Counter-Strike: Global Offensive online shooter, confirming that it will arrive on the PC, as well as on the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360, this summer.

Counter-Strike was the first true massively multiplayer online game, amazing many with its first person shooter mechanics.

With Global Offensive, Valve is trying to recapture that popularity and has already been handing out keys for the current closed beta stage these past few weeks.

Now, to get people even more interested in the game, the company has confirmed that Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is going to appear this summer.

In order to make the wait until summer more bearable, Valve also launched a series of new screenshots, which you can admire in the gallery below.
