Corsair's power supply units have managed to build quite a solid reputation in the enthusiast market, so many will rejoice when hearing that the company has announced a new series of modular PSUs designed especially for them.

Enthusiast Series Modular PSUs are built on the same platform as the Enthusiast Series TX V2 line, but these were upgraded to feature a modular cabling system consisting of an attached, fully-sleeved, ATX 12V cable and a complete set of flat detachable cables.

Outside of this change, the rest of the PSU specifications remained pretty much unaltered and both ranges include 140mm double ball-bearing fans for quiet operation, 80PLUS Bronze certification, and are rated for full continuous power delivery at 50° C.

As far as their specifications are concerned, all of Corsair's Enthusiast Series Modular PSUs sport a single high-power 12V rail that can deliver up to 70A of current in the 850W model.

The other three units announced by Corsair, which are rated at 750W, 650W, and 550W, deliver 62A, 54A and 45A, respectively.

All these PSUs feature at least six SATA and six MOLEX plugs, as well as two PCIe connectors, while the higher powered models support four PCI Express plugs.

"The Enthusiast Series has long had broad appeal among demanding system builders due to its combination of exacting performance standards and affordability," said Ruben Mookerjee, VP and general manager for Components at Corsair.

"The Enthusiast Series Modular line is a great new choice for hardcore PC gamers, performance enthusiasts, and anybody else who requires stable, reliable power delivery," concluded the company's rep.

Enthusiast Series Modular power supplies will be available from Corsair-authorized retailers worldwide in July. Pricing will start at $109 for the 550W model (TX550M), while the top of the line TX850M 850W unit will retail for $169.
