The PSP isn't that much of a competitor to Nintendo's DS, but we can pretty much say the same thing about Nintendo's handheld, the DS. Each has something to show off, whether longer lasting gameplay hours, or better visuals and game genres, but there is one thing that the PSP does have over the DS: better quality titles. That's why SEGA has confirmed today that SEGA Rally will be tearing its way onto the PSP in September.

September is the time when fruit are ripe, but also the time for developers and publishers to hit the platforms with their new additions. You can almost hear the celestial music... SEGA Rally for the PSP is being developed by racing game specialists Bugbear Entertainment. The same game is already set for a PS3, Xbox 360 and PC release, in the same month as the PSP port will be released.

SEGA Rally has everything from its predecessors (great visuals, superb handling and closely fought competitive racing etc.), adding new jaw dropping environments and fierce competitive AI, all alongside an instinctive and rewarding handling system.

"The original SEGA Rally is heralded as one of the all time great video games and this new instalment on the PSP is a great example of updating a classic perfectly for today's machines," said Guy Wilday, Studio Director, SEGA Racing Studio. "With the addition of multiplayer Wi-Fi and online multiplayer, there's scope for players to show off their skills against their friends, whilst the excellent PSP screen exudes all the visual qualities expected of SEGA Rally".

So keep in mind that SEGA Rally will be available for the PSP, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC in September, this year, but if you want more information on this multiplatform racer from SEGA, you can see their official European site. However, 360 gamers may leave it aside for another month or so, as September marks Halo 3 launch, and Xboxers won't miss that one for the world.
