So, Warner Bros. sent director Zack Snyder and his three leading actors, Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, and Gal Gadot, to San Diego Comic-Con 2014 to introduce the first-ever teaser trailer from the insanely anticipated film “Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice.”

Descriptions of the footage and reactions to it emerged online, mostly through social media, right after the screening, which took place in Hall H and was rounded up by a standing ovation and excited screams from the fans in the audience.

Then, photos from the teaser also leaked – and you can still see some of them in the gallery below.

However, it wasn’t until a few hours ago that the actual teaser leaked. We will include it below, but there’s no telling how much longer it will stay online, because Warners is doing their best to pull every copy of it from YouTube.

At the same time, the video is of such low quality that you might not even make much out of it but at least it will serve to confirm what those who’ve seen it are saying online: it was so wonderfully done and so tense that it instantly prompted shouts of approval from the audience.

If you don’t really get what’s going on in the trailer, let us explain: the first shot is of Batman (Ben Affleck) in a full armor suit with glowing light blue eyes. He’s walking through the rain on the rooftop of some building, and when he stops, he pulls on a lever that turns out to be for the Bat Signal.

The camera moves upwards to the sky, to show the Signal, but the very next second, there’s Superman (Henry Cavill), floating right in the middle of it. His eyes are burning bright red and there’s something very menacing about the way he’s shown, as if he’s about to blaze right through the Bat and blow him to pieces.

Not that he’s about to go down without a fight, either. The next shot is of Batman, staring back at Superman with his glowing eyes, then the camera moves back to Superman before cutting to the logo of the film.

“Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice” will launch the Dawn of Justice franchise, so it’s not a sequel to the Superman reboot “Man of Steel.” Snyder directed that one as well, and he’s already been confirmed for the “Justice League” movie, when it gets made.

“Dawn of Justice” also stars Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, and Amy Adams as Lois Lane. It will open in cinemas in May 2016.

[Update, July 27, later]: The YouTube leak is gone. Here's another version of the same, but it will probably not be up for much longer either.
