Since Advanced Micro Devices was all too eager to finally deliver the Radeon HD 6900 series of graphics adapters, Club3D figured it would do the same as its competitors and released some cards of its own.

Not too long ago, AMD, based in Sunnyvale, California, launched the Radeon HD 6970 and HD 6950 graphics cards.

As one would expect, companies the likes of MSI, HIS, Gigabyte, XFX and others were quick in delivering their respective custom models.

Now, Club3D has added its name to the list of AMD partners with Cayman-based cards on the market, though prices were not mentioned.

The company gave both the Radeon HD 6970 and the HD 6950 its logo but seems to have stuck to the reference specifications.

That said, the HD 6970 has 1,536 Stream Processors, the Cayman graphics processing unit operating at 880 MHz and the 2 GB of GDDR5 VRAM working at a clock speed of 5,500 MHz.

Additionally, the board features a memory interface of 256 bits and support for DirectX 11 (obviously), as well as for CrossFireX and Eyefinity, among other things.

The other card, Radeon HD 6950, is only slightly weaker, with a frequency of 800 MHz for the GPU and 5,000 MHz for the 2GB VRAM.

Both newcomers communicate with various displays via dual-DVI, dual mini DisplayPort outputs and an HDMI port.

Other specifications include DirectCompute 11, OpenCL support, Blu-ray 3D support, AMD HD3D technology, integrated HD audio and Integrated HDMI 1.4a.

Club3D's press release did not give out the prices that these cards are supposed to have, but since they have identical specs to the reference model, one can assume they are of around $299 (6950) and $370 (6970).

What remains to be seen is how the newcomers fare in their competition with their opponents on the high-end market.
