Launched at the beginning of the month with the introduction of the GeForce GTX 560Ti CoolStream OC Edition, Club 3D's CoolStream technology also made its way to the GTX 550 Ti and the company claims that this design will offer increased airflow and better performances while also reducing the noise generated by the card.

The new video card is called the GTX 550Ti CoolStream Super OC Edition and comes factory overclocked in order to deliver improved frame rates in games and other graphics intensive applications.

To allow for the higher than stock frequencies used, Club 3D paired the card with its trademark CoolStream technology that uses a full length heatsink cooled by a single centrally placed fan.

According to the company, this was specially designed in order to provide better airflow to the components placed on the printed circuit board as well as lower operating temperatures.

As a result, Club 3D's graphics card has its core clocked at 940MHz while the memory runs at 1075MHz (4300MHz effective).

While this isn't too much of an improvement of over the stock 900MHz/1026MHz of the reference GTX 550 Ti, it should nonetheless deliver a slight performance improvement in most games out there.

The Nvidia GeForce GTX 550 Ti is based on the company's GF116-400 GPU and features 192 stream processors, 32 texturing units, 24 ROP units and a 192-bit wide memory bus that is connected to 1GB of frame buffer memory.

The card was designed to replace the GTS 450 and it has a TDP of 116W, only 10W more than its predecessor.

Connectivity wise, the Club 3D GTX 550Ti CoolStream Super OC Edition sports a pair of dual-link DVI outputs and a mini-HDMI port.

Sadly, no details about pricing and availability were made public at this time. (via TechPowerUp)
