Clint Eastwood is slowly realizing that his controversial speech at the National Republican Convention was most likely a mistake that backfired on both him and Mitt Romney. He’s saying so much in his latest interview.
Speaking with Extra’s Jerry Penacoli to promote a new movie, Eastwood owns up to making a fool of himself at the Convention, where he yelled at an empty chair and addressed an invisible Obama.
However, he says, if the Republicans were “dumb” enough to have him there, they got their money’s worth.
“If somebody’s dumb enough to ask me to go to a political convention and say something, they’re gonna have to take what they get,” he says.
As for doing it again, Clint is still of two minds about it: “I never look backward. It’s done and it’s done. I probably would. I wouldn’t be afraid of it.”
