Dennis Shirk, a senior producer working on the newly announced Brave New World expansion for Civilization V, says that the addition of ideologies will allow players to experience a more thrilling end game, with major power blocks facing off against each other.

The developer tells Rock, Paper, Shotgun that, “I personally think it’s become more unpredictable because especially the new battle of the culture game, your outgoing culture versus their incoming, et cetera, that battle means that you never quite know if you’re going to win.”

Gamers will be able to focus on freedom or order and based on their choice, they will develop new ways of reaching victory conditions.

Brave New World for Civilization V is designed to add more factions, tourism, international trade routes and new archeology mechanics to the turn-based strategy.

It will be launched on the PC during summer.
