Church of Scientology Keeps John Travolta and Kelly Preston Together

The Church of Scientology is often maligned in the press because of their beliefs and the often questionable ways in which they do business. Nevertheless, John Travolta and Kelly Preston say they owe their marriage to it.

The two actors, outspoken Scientologists who have often publicly praised the advantages of being members of the Church, are again gushing about them, saying it’s what has helped them through many a hard time.

In a recent interview with Extra, new daddy John says that Scientology places a lot of emphasis on communication and it’s been very helpful for his marriage when he and Kelly hit certain obstacles.

“Communication is number one, but our church does a lot to help us keep together. When we have issues, we go settle it up, and if you don’t do that you kind of get stale a little bit,” the actor reveals.

In the same interview, Travolta also gushes about his son Benjamin, who was born in November 2010 and came when both John and Kelly had lost almost all hope of becoming pregnant again.

“Gosh, he’s amazing!” Kelly chimes in. “He’s just dreamy. He’s so happy and alive and smart and wonderful,” adds the actress.

This is not the first time that the two stars praise Scientology for helping them out in difficult moments, as we also noted on previous occasions.

For instance, shortly after Kelly gave birth, she gave an interview about how Benjamin was brought into the world, praising how wonderful the so-called silent birth method was.

Scientology don’t believe in antidepressants and other types of medication. They do believe though that, in order to allow a child’s psyche to be as free of “aberrations” as possible, it has to be brought into the world in complete silence, Kelly said, as we also informed you at the time.

“Because L. Ron Hubbard [Sci-Fi writer and founder of the Church] found that the single source of aberration of psychosomatic illnesses, stress, fears, worry, things like that have to do with the reactive mind, and in that part of the mind is different words and commands that can come back to affect you later in your life,” the actress explained.
