Charles Ramsey isn’t just a national hero after rescuing Amanda Berry and two other women from the house of their kidnapper, but he’s also an amazing interview – which, of course, you probably already know by now.

Ramsey spoke about the rescue to Anderson Cooper for his CNN’s 360 segment, and the amazing interview is embedded above.

Among other things, he says he wishes he could have done “this hero stuff” one year earlier, when he first moved next to the kidnapper, and gives a detailed account of the rescue mission.

He also says he’s no hero but “a Christian, an American, just like you,” a man who heard a woman crying out in distress and who put everything else aside (including his McDonald’s) and rushed to her aid.

He doesn’t want the reward money either, telling Anderson they should just give it to the girls he rescued.

“Because if folks been following this case since last night, you been following me since last night, you know I got a job anyway. Just went picked it up, paycheck. What that address say? [...] 2203 Seymour. Where are them girls living? Right next door to this paycheck. So yes, take that reward and give it to—that little girl,” Ramsey says.

Amazing.
