QuickerTek has expanded its range of solar chargers to include Apple’s third-generation 11- and 13-inch MacBook Air models, by releasing updated versions of its Juicz Solar Chargers.

Available in 27- and 55-watt capacities and designed to be used outdoors or in environments where sunlight is available but reliable power is not, The Apple Juicz Solar Charger targets the active mobile MacBook user, QuickerTek said.

The Apple Juicz Solar Charger panel folds into an easily transportable size.

It can be unfolded, so that it gathers maximum sunlight to power the MacBook, and uses the original MagSafe power connector, so that compatibility is ensured.

The 27-watt model is sufficient for many users to charge a MacBook, QuickerTek claims.

For those who need faster charging with more power, the 55 watt model uses more solar panels to gather more solar power, which ultimately provides faster charging.

The 55-watt version can also charge a Mac notebook while it’s being used, according to the specifications posted by QuickerTek.

“Because QuickerTek provides both power and wireless networking options for Apple users, our customers can take a MacBook on a boat - powered by the Apple Juicz Solar Charger and also use one of the wireless antenna upgraade products to reach out from the boat, camper or RV to a access wireless access point,” the company said.

The Juicz Solar Charger can be secured to the ground or other surface, thanks to the grommets placed around the outside of the solar panels.

“Whether users want to spend the day at the beach, remote camping or just out on the balcony or deck, the Apple Juicz Solar Charger makes it possible,” QuickerTek proudly states.

Tests carried out by the vendor allegedly showed that the new MacBook Air models recharge 30% faster than previous Air models.

QuickerTek notes that its Apple Juicz powers not only the Apple MacBook Air, but all MacBook and MacBook Pro models as well.

The official specifications are posted as follows:

- Flexible and folding fully connected solar panels; - 5mm connector - for connecting QuickerTek solar and external batteries; - Original Apple MagSafe connector; - 12 volt automotive cigarette lighter connection; - 3-foot extension cable with 2.5mm connection; - Grommets to secure the unfolded panels during charging; - Messenger bag carry case.

The 27-Watt version costs $700, while the 55-Watt model goes for $1,200.
