Capcom has taken the time to post a list of changes related to characters that have been made for Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix. There are quite a lot of changes in there, with duration of attacks, distances of kicks and damage dealt for all the protagonists of the fighting game.

Ryu is probably thought off as the most complete character, as he only gets a fake fireball move. Ken gets an increase in range for almost all attacks and the strong Dragon Punch is now invulnerable on the way up. The hundred hands move for Honda will be easier to pull while his Jab torpedo can now take out fireballs launched by enemies. Baraka gets invulnerability while he recovers from his horizontal ball and the diagonal ball has a safer recovery move. Chun-Li's hundred legs kick is easier to execute as is Dhalsim's teleport move. There are a lot of other moves that were tweaked at the original blog post.

All the changes mean that most of the strategies employed in the original game will be again usable by experienced players who aim to take on the new challenge posed by Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix. New players will be able to create fresh strategies and strings of moves that can be equally formidable. Capcom had to create some changes to make sure that the veteran players would not directly dominate all the matches played in the new game.

Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix will offer improved and enhanced 1080p redrawn graphics, a remixed soundtrack and accessibility. Street Fighter II was, arguably, the game that really pushed fighting titles to the forefront and made them interesting, leading to the development of a host of releases that mimicked its formula. The game is set for release in 2009 and a long beta period is scheduled to begin this fall in order to test the way it works over the network and the overall changes.
