14 DAY TRIAL // “Magic Mike” is essentially regarded as a “chick flick” in the worst sense of the phrase: it has a group of very handsome and very fit young men doing explicit dance moves in little clothes, set against a rather simplistic backstory. It’s a pleasure for the eye and not the mind, and it’s best enjoyed with someone with similar tastes.
Well, the sequel to the 2012 hit, aptly called “Magic Mike XXL,” is coming out on July 17. Channing Tatum, who serves as co-writer, producer and leading man, has been promoting it whatever chance he gets.
To further boost the film’s chances at the box office, Warner Bros. would like to make it more appealing to another segment of the moviegoing public, so it took it to the famous (and famously gay) LA Pride over the weekend.
As you can see from the videos and the photos available below, “Magic Mike XXL” even got its own float in the parade, with leading men Channing and Matt Bomer coming out with a troupe of very hunky male dancers to raise awareness on the film.
Bomer, for the record, is openly gay.
He didn’t do much dancing, but luckily he had Channing to make up for it. Unfortunately for the participants in the parade who were hoping to see a six-pack at the very least, there was no shirtlessness from either actor.
